Sustainability is a part of Netguru’s DNA

We strive to create a sustainable, digital world in which everyone can realize their full potential. This vision at Netguru has been our North Star since day one.

B Corp

We became B Corp certified at the end of February 2020, joining the movement of a global community of more than 6,600 companies today, using business as a force for good.

Tech for Good

We are one of Tech To The Rescue’s founding partners. The organization connects NGOs with tech companies to tackle the big issues and we proudly support pro bono projects.

United Nations SD Goals

In 2019 we built an internal framework for sustainable development and made a commitment to the following UN Sustainable Development Goals: 9, 10, 11 and 13.

Carbon Neutrality

We calculated all three scopes of the CO2 footprint then decreased where possible and offset unavoidable emissions, reaching carbon neutrality by the end of 2022.

Netguru has been our biggest investor into our product development. The partnership allows us to build the best in class product, while in the process both teams are contributing to the impactful cause of increasing clean energy access in sub-Saharan Africa.

Salzburg AG: Empowering energy communities

Salzburg AG teamed up with Netguru to enable peer-to-peer energy trading through a new digital platform. In just two months, we designed and prototyped a feature-rich, cross-platform app — complete with branding, wireframes, and user testing — helping citizens actively participate in the clean energy transition.

We tailored our designs to work seamlessly across all devices, ensuring effortless transitions from desktop to mobile.

Your Greentech FAQ

Get clear answers to common questions about greentech solutions.

What is greentech?

Green tech, short for green technology, refers to the use of technology and science to create products, systems, or methods that are environmentally friendly, sustainable, and help reduce negative impacts on the planet.

What are the key areas of greentech?

  1. Renewable energy: Solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal energy; focuses on replacing fossil fuels with sustainable sources.
  2. Energy efficiency: Smart grids, LED lighting, energy-efficient appliances; aims to use less energy to perform the same tasks.
  3. Waste management & recycling: technologies for better sorting, reusing, and reducing waste; includes composting, e-waste recycling, and circular economy tools.
  4. Green building: Eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient heating/cooling, and sustainable design; often guided by standards like LEED or BREEAM.
  5. Sustainable transportation: Electric vehicles (EVs), hydrogen fuel cells, smart mobility apps; reduces greenhouse gas emissions from traditional transport.
  6. Water purification & conservation: Clean water access using low-energy purification, desalination, leak detection systems; essential in areas facing drought or pollution.
  7. Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS): Captures CO₂ emissions from industrial sources and stores or reuses them; aims to combat climate change directly.

How to leverage AI in greentech?

Leveraging AI in green tech is one of the most promising ways to accelerate sustainability and fight climate change. AI can help by optimizing systems, reducing waste, forecasting environmental trends, and enabling smarter decision-making.

Here are a couple of examples:

  1. Renewable energy aptimization: smart grids, forecasting, maintenance
  2. Smart cities & buildings: energy efficiency, building management systems
  3. Sustainable transportation: traffic management, EV optimization, autonomous vehicles
  4. Climate & environmental monitoring: climate modeling, deforestation & pollution detection, wildlife conservation
  5. Water & agriculture: precision agriculture, leak detection, irrigation optimization
